The Freedome Route

The Route based on Harriet Tubman actually Journeys using modern roads the trip would be 560 miles 900 kilometers long a strong lucky runaway slave might be able to have a chance of making it to freedom but that would be rare for a slave to runaway and think he was make but anyways it would usually take two months to escape 3 months at the most especially in bad weather the way would last a year the Underground railroad has a diverse membership focused on a common goal of helping others escaped to freedom even though in the late 1800 some slavery was still going on because they were the last to get the message of freedom by the the 1900 slaver was over.

Tough Life

Life of a slave was tough getting sold away from your family and home with nothing to do about it you would have to do farm work raise cotton no toys or games just boring old work hard work no slaves were treated with respect if u did not do your work you would be whipped hard long and horrible they would starve u and if u got to old to work do you think they would free you HA what ever they would burn u your place to sleep would be a barn no bed and u would have your own space you would be packed in with a lot of other slave people who you don't even no and if you had a baby they would sell it then Harriet Tubman (MOSES) makes a new song called follow the Drinking gourd the song was a secret code and it lead to the north star but don't get caught.

Slavery Life

From 1654 until 1865 slavery life was legal within the rules of the much present U.S. most slaves were black and held by whites and also some Native Americans and some fee blacks held slaves to and some white people were slaves as well but most slavery was held in the south they were used as mostly farmers they raised cotton and stuff like that 4 million slaves were held at that time and the total population was 12 million people in the 15 states in which slavery was slavery was free of all the 8,289,782 free people in those15 slaves states 393,967 people 4.8% held slaves.

Africans

The first shipped Africans were brought just for a certain amount of time not slaves they were required as white servants were to serve seven years many were brought to the British north Americans colonies specifically Jamestown Virginia in 1620 however the slaves trade did not immediately expand in the north America.
Slaves started to run away to the north once the got there they were free but wen the new law came it said if u find a slave in North America u would have to return it to the south to its right full owner so thats means that there was no way out and once they got back they would get beat.

Slave Problems

Southern and northern lifestyles led to war in 1800 on eight million people lived in America thats half the population but in 1861 the number of Americans increased by 31 million so that means more slaves were bought and people started to smuggle them into the country but that was country problems town problems were a little bit better they owe slaves just to say i have a lot of money but many towns really didn't even do that they just had slaves just to have theme but in the mid 1800's millions of men and women move joined countries together came to America to sort a better life for there families and there close friends.
